Testnet is free: Testnet requests cost no credits, up to a daily request cap. Mainnet requests and Mainnet webhook deliveries draw from one monthly credit balance per organization. This page lists what each plan allows, what each request costs and how to check your usage. More API keys do not add credits or rate.

Plan limits

The live values are in GET https://api.lumeus.dev/v1/plans (no key needed). Prices are in plans and billing. On Free, a Mainnet request that would pass 250,000 credits returns 402 until the period resets; paid plans continue with overage. A request over the per-minute rate returns 429 with Retry-After; see rate limits.

Testnet is free

Testnet requests to the Activity API, the Assets API and RPC, and Testnet webhook deliveries, cost 0 credits and are never billed. Each workspace can make up to 10,000 Testnet requests per UTC day (unlimited on Enterprise). The count resets at 00:00 UTC.
  • Every request counts, including requests that later fail. Each call in an RPC batch counts as one request.
  • Over the cap, Activity and Assets return 429 with code: rate_limited, and Retry-After is the number of seconds until 00:00 UTC. A refused request costs nothing and is not counted.
  • RPC returns HTTP 429, and every call in the request gets a JSON-RPC error with the same message, "data":"rate_limited" and request_id. A batch that would cross the cap is refused whole and counts nothing. A request of notifications only gets 429 with an empty body.
  • The per-minute rate limits apply on Testnet as on Mainnet.
  • The Free Testnet webhook endpoint keeps its own cap of 1,000 deliveries a UTC day.
The testnet block of /v1/usage shows today’s count, and testnet_daily_requests in /v1/plans gives each plan’s cap (null means unlimited).
Plan rates are ceilings, not guarantees. In load tests one workspace sustained about 10 requests per second on the Activity API, about 9 on the Assets API and a few per second on RPC, whatever the plan. Faster traffic queues, or returns 429 or 503 with Retry-After. Contact hello@lumeus.dev if you need more.

Credits

Credits apply to Mainnet; Testnet requests cost 0 credits. REST data routes cost their route weight per started 100 records, and at least one credit per started 64 KiB of response:
Worked example. An asset activity page (weight 5) with limit=200 and 200 records costs max(5 x 2, 1) = 10 credits. The same page with 30 records costs 5. An account activity page (weight 1) with 1,000 records costs at least 10, and more if the response is over 640 KiB.

Activity API

Page size: default 10. Up to 1,000 on /accounts/{id}/activity and both topic routes, and up to 200 elsewhere. A larger limit is lowered to the maximum; the page reports the effective limit.

Assets API

Page size: default 50, up to 200. Follow _links.next.href; cursors are opaque. A holder answer whose rank is still being computed (rank: null with rank_note) is not charged.

RPC

RPC costs the method’s credits plus one credit per started 64 KiB of response, so a small getHealth costs 2. Each call in a batch is charged on its own. A completed simulation that returns result.error is still charged. See RPC methods for request and response ceilings.

Webhooks

On paid plans each event delivered on Mainnet costs 1 credit. Testnet deliveries cost nothing on every plan; the Free Testnet endpoint is capped at 1,000 deliveries a UTC day. Management calls and test deliveries are free.

Errors

Error responses cost 0 credits, with one exception on Mainnet: an unknown transaction hash on /transactions/{hash} or /transactions/{hash}/activity returns 404 not_found and costs the route’s minimum of 1 credit, because the lookup searched the full history. For exactly when a request is charged, see plans and billing. The live weights are credit_weights in /v1/plans.

Assets API errors

Full code list: errors.

Check usage

Response (trimmed)
GET /v1/me carries the same testnet block. The block is left out only when the counter cannot be read. Use /v1/usage/breakdown to group usage by key, network and route (including Assets routes; Testnet rows show 0 credits), and /v1/usage/series for daily or hourly buckets. /v1/logs lists the last 24 hours of API-key requests; filter with product=activity, assets or rpc. Paid webhook deliveries appear under the webhooks endpoint. Credits equal delivered events, but deliveries are recorded in batches a few seconds after they succeed, so the request count there counts batches, not events.
